Coffee Anyone?
If you want to move a bit beyond the gut wrenching, "I'm gonna see that flying out at least one orifice later" instant coffee of yesterday, you might want to check out some of these options:
Java Juice:
Java Juice bills itself as "100% liquid organic coffee extract made in the USA from Arabica coffee." It's super light, and packable. All you need is some hot water. Of course there MAY be one or two folks (DAVE!) just crazy enough to take a hit of the Juice straight...
"I was starting to feel a little crazy and wanting to get jiggy with it. So, I unleashed my secret weapon: Java Juice and M&Ms. Stoveless this time, the caffeine fix came from these little packets of heaven. Better than GU hands down! Chasing copious amounts of M&Ms, well that was the kick the turbo needed. "

It appears that coffee super giant Starbucks also has thrown their apron into pot with the introduction of Via. Via is not an extract like Java Juice, but with all the hype and talk of "super secret technology" around it. and the Starbucks name (i.e. cash) behind it, it MIGHT be another viable option to the above mentioned old gut wrenching instant coffees.
So those are some instant ways to get some java on the trail, but if you want fresh brewed, and are looking for some tips on how to get it done, check out adventure cyclist, and long time xxcmag.com contributor Joe Meiser's trail side coffee brewing technique...

This looks like a quality way to get some fresh brewed, NON instant coffee in the system while out on the trail. Joe does this all with a D.I.Y. stove he built. For more on Joe's technique, and the supplies and materials used, check out his blog.
Not sure I have Joe's patience for the fresh brewed, but I do look forward to trying some of the newer "instant" coffees on the market. Wow, all this typing about coffee, has made me want to go get a cup.
