Quick Updates Of Randomness
Just a quick update about the coming issue.
Season II, Issue I will drop in few days or so (give or take 7 to 10), so keep an eye out. The mag will be available to view online, download to your PC or the Apple iPad that you KNOW you want! Who knows, maybe we'll go all Radiohead on the digital version?? ;) Not sure, what I am sure is I want the Gospel according to how freaking cool endurance racing is, out to as many peeps as posible!!
The mag will also be AVAILABLE IN PRINT!! Very excited about the print version. A few folks were able to get their hands on Issue #5 in print, and it got some very good response. I think the word is... STOKED!!!
The cost for printing short runs is NOT cheap, but the end result is pretty damn sweet. I would not put a mag out that I wouldn't pay for myself. And I speak the truth when I say I would pay for this mag (if I wasn't lucky enough to help create it!).
The goal of XXC has always been to showcase the sport of endurance mountain biking, and create a product that people want to keep, and look at more than once. There are billion magazines out there to read a blurb, see a bunch of ads and throw away. I want folks to pick up issue 2.1 a year from now and want to read it again.
Printed copies will be for sale direct from xxcmag.com, and will be shipped world wide!! Live in the Congo?? No problem, XXC will find you! Purchases via the site will be through PayPal. If you hate PayPal, or have some sort of conspiracy theory of sorts about them, you should be able to purchase through MagCloud.com as well, but expect to pay few bucks more (not our fault), and shipping is only available to US, Canada, and the UK. Again, not our fault. Plus ordering through the site will offer you the chance to pick up a swank new t shirt (or at least different looking) to wear whilst you read the new issue. LOL!
The new t shirts were picked up today from Bob B., AKA Lord of The Lumens/His Royal PORCness, and should be on the site in a day or two, so look for that too! Sizes will range from Small to XXL. The "Fun Hurts" shirt is now available in Titanium Grey/New Tire Black (heather and black) and the "Saddle Sores" shirt is in Bloody Scab Red/Hot Goth Girl Black (that would be red and black.)
To all the folks that ordered XXC kits... they should be in stock in about two weeks, and will ship from XXC HQ ASAP.
Kicking around the idea of a contest. The first racer photographed on a legit endurance race podium (1st, 2nd or 3rd place) in an XXCMAG.COM kit or t shirt, will receive printed copies of each issue throughout Season II, as they become available. Roughly a $60+ value give or take some shipping, handling, beer money, and what not. We're still in the process of fine tuning the fine print on that one, but look for details in the near future.
Well that's about it right now. The 2010 racing has started, and 2.1 is right around the corner. I want to blow shit up this season with XXC. I hope you'll join me.
