XXC #5 FREE! (Sort Of)
Reading single speed freak (and general freak) Rich "Dickie" Dillen's blog this a.m.. got me thinking about stuff. "Stuff" being the recent earthquake in Haiti. While I'm not "Mr. Current Events" (finding out a full 24+ hours later, that there even WAS an earthquake in Haiti), I do know that even the hardest race, or the most epic bonk is meaningless and stupid compared to what this folks are going through and going to be going through.
Anyway, I read Dickie's blog, and it seems Mrs. Dickie (AKA "Pie") did some time working at an orphanage in Haiti a while back. That orphanage is OK, but you can be sure that there will be a WHOLE lot of kids in need filtering in ASAP. And they are gonna need some serious help. You can check out Rich's blog for the full scoop on the orphanage and what sort of goods they plan on shipping out to them.
Since I doubt that orphans or earthquake victims in Haiti need free copies of XXC , I figured this weekend I will offer digital copies of XXC #5 to YOU, for free. Sort of.... It will still cost you $2.99, but all proceeds (after PayPal take it's fees) will be sent to God's Littlest Angels to help these kids out. If you already have #5, buy it again! Or if you don't want the mag, or want to donate more than a couple bucks, go direct to their site and make a donation on your own "just 'cause."
This offer is good from now until Monday on $2.99 digital downloads*, so get clicking and lets send some cash their way! This is a good way for any folks who may have been jacked that we had to start charging for the downloads, enjoy the mag and feel good that their cash isn't going to fund stuff like race entries, bikes, gas in my car, and beer. LOL! Also, for any cynics, this is no attempt at "tax deductable crap-ola, people that make $29,000 LESS than they did last year, really don't worry about that stuff. Kapeesh?
I will post the total next week. CLICK HERE if you want to see a preview of the mag before you buy, and CLICK HERE to find out more about the work that God's Littlest Angels does for kids.
